Before Water in the Sky, Trey referenced the upcoming Phish Hampton reunion shows, saying he was going to take his tent to the parking lot and camp out until March. Trey preformed Water in the Sky through Sample in a Jar solo acoustic. Burlap Sack and Pumps was played “for all the women... we don’t care what you’re wearing, as long as you have nice shoes.”

NoFIller To add to the above review, Sitting In Limbo was one of the most poignant moments of any TAB show I've seen. Topically appropriate with the upcoming and recently announced Hampton return, which Trey had mentioned earlier in the show that he wanted to just camp out and play guitar until March. Played delicately but with intent and the whole crowd seemed to be in the palm of Trey's hand during that moment in the show. On top of that, The National was a pretty new venue at the time run by a local group so security was easy going and the Virginia Phish crew really showed up for this sold out show. It was the tour closer for a pretty stellar TAB revival tour in Fall 2008 and it seemed like everyone in the community was brimming with excitement. For the Richmond crowd, it was a breath of fresh air after the mostly not great TAB/70 Volt Parade show a few years prior at the Landmark. New venue, new band, new Trey. The stars came together for this one.

gigrant This show was fantastic. Great energy and vibe, with most everyone thinking about Hampton and the return coming up the next year. TAB was very tight throughout the night. The "Push on" opener set the mood as it was deep long and tight. "Backwards", "Sitting in Limbo" and "Burlap Sack & Pumps" were also perfect. At various points in jams you can hear Trey get dirty and wet with an envelope filter or digital wah on his guitar. Real dirty, and real wet. Very nice auds are out there for folks who want to see what they missed out on. Easily one of my favorite Trey solo shows.

This was also the last night I got to hang out with my friend Sean Riznikove, who died unexpectedly and far too young. RIP buddy.
