Courtney is one of the few guests to have a song lyric reference him: As the actor who played Malachi in Children of the Corn, he is forever immortalized in “Rock A William.” Other popular movies featuring Courtney include Can’t Buy Me Love and Memphis Belle. Want more Phishy connections? He appeared in a movie titled The Landlady and played Dr. McConnell in King Cobra. And, of course, he was part of the bizarre on-stage antics during the 12/6/96 Las Vegas “Harpua.” For more stories on Courtney, check out Trey’s story in The Phish Book about the prank they played together.
