matthewgoldsmith I'm going to offer love to 8/19/12 II. Shortly after this show I was spinning the Live Phish recording while I drove a visiting musician relative to Guitar Center for new strings. An accomplished guitarist and fan of Talking Heads but not a fan of Phish, he heard the opening of C&P and proclaimed his love for the song. At around the 6 minute mark, he asked if it was a live album. I finally informed him of the source and he grunted.

The 50+ min. block of music beginning with C&P and culminating with Theme stands up with any era or sequence of Phish music for several reasons. The concept of execution as being one of those hadn't occurred to me until my cousin's case of mistaken identity.

Although not "hold on for dear life" special, there is something delicately germane about the piano trickle into Theme.
