Review by pascalawag

pascalawag I was fortunate enough to have attended this show.

It was my first time to see them. I've never considered myself a Phish Head, but I did enjoy Hoist and Rift in high school. My step-dad had connections at UT Communications where they used to tape ACL. He got me on the list for the show. 'Twas indeed a unique opportunity to see them in a small(ish) club-like setting.

I was right up front with a pretty loose but lively GA pit in a venue (Studio 6A) with a total capacity of around 800. Honestly, had they done any of the covers of music I was already mad on (Zappa, Talking Heads, The Who, etc.), it may have been a turning point for me.

My 2nd Phish show wasn't until just recently in Grand Prairie, TX on 07/29. The entire performance blew me away (especially the light show!). Didn't recognize but a couple of the songs, but the Phab Phour sure are incredible musicians. I've since downloaded several shows and studio albums. Maybe a couple weeks on the tour next summer? Who knows?
