Review by WeatherReport

WeatherReport I was kind of shocked to see that I'm the only person on Phish.net who attended this show. Blues Traveler played at The Front on both 9/7/90 and 9/8/90, I attended both shows. I always thought Trey showed up on the first night, but my memory is a tad fuzzy considering how long ago it was. They second thing that made me think Trey showed up on the first night was a soundboard recording of 9/7/90 (available on Internet Archive), where John Popper is asking if Trey can report to the stage. I kind of remembering that happening on the second night. At any rate both of the Blues Traveler shows were great, the night when Trey showed up being the better of the two. The Front really was a great venue back then, it was always my favorite of the Burlington bar/clubs. The place was pretty small, a little bigger than Nectars, or Club Metronome. I got to see Phish there around 6 or 7 times, Blues Traveler twice, Taj Mahal, Max Creek, and Merl Saunders & The Rainforest Band. It was really sad when the place closed up around 1992, and turned it into a ski shop. There wasn't a venue in town like The Front for quite a few years, till they opened Higher Ground in Winooski. If any of you Phans out there lived in Burlington in that era and want to talk about old times, send me a message.
