Review by DollarBill

DollarBill This is another nice, but average show for the fall of '89.

Even though Melt is pretty new, it makes for a solid opener here. Ok Kee Pa > Suzy was good, though Suzy had a lot of cuts in the recording. There was some funny stage banter from Trey before an ok Rocky Top was played. Fee was also just ok in my book. Sky was pretty good, and is starting to really come together over all and rock. Bag was good, as was the new My Sweet One from Fishman. Old tape flips and/or poor editing cut most of YEM, which is kind of a let down. You get to hear the ending jam though, which was funny, but standard. La Grange sounded a little off to me, and was kind of a weak cover to close up first set.

Hood is a solid second set opener, and the new Gin is still settling in and getting better each time. Mike's was good, the usual seven minutes for this time period. Hydrogen was pretty good, and Weekapaug rocked until the recording cut it off. Bummer... I didn't go looking for another source, so that's all I heard of this one. Looks like they played a really fun back half to the second set and had great encores too.

Again, not bad, not awesome, just a nice, average fall '89 show. Check it out if you're into old school Junta and Lawn Boy material.
