An utterly joyous jam to cap off a pretty darn good show that capped off a pretty goddamn good touring year. Yes, yes, major key, bliss, blah blah blah. Just listen to it, man.

From the moment Trey latches onto Page's repeating pattern to the moment the jam dies away and Trey motions for Harpua, the band plays seven of the deepest, darkest, thorniest minutes of music in the modern era's live catalog. If there's one thing the Baker's Dozen did well, it was plumb the depths of 2.0's darkest jams, and this (or 8/4's Caspian) came closest to the earth's core.

I imagine that, had this sucker's gorgeous melodic jam gone on for just a few more minutes, this one would have the green treatment instead of Superball's. Nevertheless, the band hits one heck of a nice peak out of the usual ASIHTOS jam, and then slide right back into Ocean without blinking, almost like a segue. 7/22/15 II might never get its due as a very fine show (like 7/5/13 or 8/1/14), but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy jams as good as this one.
