Wow, what a fun show, just finished up couch touring this one - my immediate thoughts are that this was a hot one.
Wow, what a fun show, just finished up couch touring this one - my immediate thoughts are that this was a hot one. Simply stated, Phish's most recent venture last October to Chula Vista was close to "perfect" and immediately joined a long list of "legendary" shows. The primary ingredients required for "legendary Phish show" status include a blend of rarities, unique playing with extended jamming, theming (not necessary but this helps) and the overall flow (pacing, transitions, song placement and even lighting). 10/23/21 was nearly flawless.

This was my 100th show, and I don't think the personal experience I had that night can ever be topped. This is top tier Phish, idgaf how many shows you been to or when you started seeing them, if you don't think this show is at the very least 4.5 stars, you need your ears cleaned. I feel biased about this because it was my 100th, but this was amazing from start to finish. From the moment Fluffhead went into a type two jam, I knew that they were not f*cking around on this night. Really great variety of songs from all over their career, each set only took a moment to catch it's breath, almost all killer, no filler. NICU, Tube, and Free are major highlights for me. This one goes down in my book as one of the greats I was fortunate enough to be present for.

This show was fantastic and is one of my favorite 3.0 shows I've attended (~60).
This show was fantastic and is one of my favorite 3.0 shows I've attended (~60). One of my favorite shows I've seen live. Possibly the best versions of NICU and Free ever (Free raged especially), Tube goes so deep, Piper is as weird as I've ever heard Phish, beautiful segues throughout, really interesting NICU teases everywhere. Oh, and a top-notch Fluffhead opener! This show is a must-hear.

Super fun show to be at. Had not seen the band since 2018 at the Forum. HIghlights for me were Tube > Slave, and the second set with the Piper being the standout. The harmonies in Scents were beautiful and the First Tube to send everyone home super high. Joy was beautiful placement too. And the lights are just insane!

Two weeks post-show and I'm still glowing. For me this is pretty much as good as it gets, definitely top tier ... and while a lot of your show enjoyment can depend on who you're with and how you're feeling, the re-listen for sure holds up. Fluffhead opener - could you ask for anything better? Best NICU ever (that I"m aware of) and as others have mentioned, was teased masterfully throughout the show (love the tease timing within Tube at around 5'25). Everything came together for me on this night throughout both sets. Insanely good Free & Piper. Even more grateful that this was a hometown show.

Incredible show , said it was the best show phish show. After I finally caught my breath and was able to speak again . Major rager on the lawn , oven never danced my ass off so much at a phish concert . Free was so much fun . When they came out of the jam and Trey delivered the finishing verse I get like I survived a journey and was flying on an eagles wings . Pure art flawless execution. I went ape shit to sand and Piper was beyond perfect . perfect alien vibes . Glad I came out west #phishlove

I think this might be my new favorite show. I didn't think it could get better than San Francisco, but I was slapped across the face. I say hot damn! Everything here is just immaculate. Maybe my new favorite tour. Listen to it, please. 4.0 is the greatest Phish I've heard, and I'm not just saying that. Swim with the cactus, baby!

This show was already special before we walked in the door. The first return to San Diego in 6 years, the NICU printed on the ticket, and for me, the return to the venue where I met my wife and Trey walked off the stage with my one year NA recovery key tag in 2016.
The band didn’t disappoint, playing the greatest number of type II jams since Magnaball?!? The continual NICU quotes were amazingly nimble and inventive, while tube and piper went DEEEP!! Just glancing at the set list, there’s really only one song that might be swapped to make this a perfect show on paper.
When I go to shows, this is the kind of night I go for. Fun, unique, exploratory, creative and invigorating. After 200+ shows, this is without question a 5 star show. If you were there, you know. If you weren’t, give it a spin asap.
Thank you to the band, crew and entire phamily. Let’s do it again tonight!
