ENCORE: A Day in the Life
An underrated show in my opinion ...
An underrated show in my opinion ... My first show. Anyone who says Bonnaroo shows shouldn't count as a first show can suck it. CDT opener was awesome. When Divided Sky started, I almost lost my mind. It was one of the few Phish songs that, at the time, I had become very fond of. The Disease was solid, and I didn't know Alaska at the time, but thoroughly enjoyed it. The following Stash, Golgi and Wolfman's I loved, all three being some of my favorites. The Hood is adequate. When they went into Wilson, I felt a bit discouraged because I didn't think they were going to finish YEM. I didn't fully appreciate what was happening at the time, but I was glad they did. A Day in the Life encore to top it off and you got yourself a stew baby! Or a full-length Phish show played in one set.

This was my first show! I know the review is a bit delayed, but looking back, all the excitement and thoughts of how I went into this are filling my memory. A few of my close friends from college and I were extremely excited for the whole Bonnaroo experience in and of itself and the Phish shows were just icing on the cake. I remember Chalkdust was a blast as the first in concert song EVER! During Stealing Time I was like what is this? Divided Sky got the ball rolling and it was a party from then til now. I'm happy to say that every show I've been to has been an amazing experience and it all started here. The people and memories I share from this night still trickle their way to the present day. One of the girls who came with us on that trip just came to Merriweather with me two weeks ago and I'll be with her for four years this November. Happy times, good vibes, and all the rest. I can't wait for more! Oh, and its a one set show, mixing it up (I like looking at the stats). Rock On!

This was my first time seeing Phish. It was an amazing experience after a great day of music under the hot Tennessee sun. This show is so memorable because it was when I realized that Phish was much more than a band but a large community of people who look out and care for one another. My eyes felt like they finally opened during this performance.

As my first Phish show im gonna say it was phenomenal. i was 3 rows back dead in the middle of mike and trey and before the band ever struck a note i was in heaven. chalkdust was a great way to start the show with some nice energy. the disease really hit nicely. wolfman was nice as i remember with a pretty good jam. kill devil's was fun but i can't wait till they really bust out on that one. highlight of the night and i would say the whole show was the yem> wilson> yem. all around a good show but i cant wait to see them at at PHISH show.

Solid standard Chalk Dust opener. It was cool that they were playing a headlining late night set. Great energy through Possum, and Disease killed it.

Damn! definitely was a pretty solid show, wish i could've managed my way a bit closer through the roo crowd but the tunes were all that mattered anyways. the YEM was great, but by the time the encore came on I was blackout. thumbs up

the kill devil falls from this show is incredibly beautiful. Sometime around the 8 minute mark it starts to break free from a 'typical' kdf jam and remains interesting throughout. After about 10 minutes it starts wavering back and forth between a fast paced major key pentatonic jam and some really pretty ambient stuff, it sounds like somebody's got a volume fader on fishman and just keeps bringing his beat up/down to alternate between the two. 13:30 reaches a section that is heart achingly beautiful for just a few moments. Trey is overplaying quite a bit for a lot of this jam, but overall the whole thing feels super inspired and creative.
