Review by soundboy1

soundboy1 I was VERY excited for this one. Hometown venue and a lot of my non head friends would be there. I feel like Phish considers this one of their hometown venues as well. My friends from school went and walked up to the ticket booth to buy lawn seats. Some how they walked away with front row center. Combine that with first time using MDMA and they had a blast to say the least. The scene before the shows was the stuff of legends. They had just legalized women being topless in NY state parks so there were a lot of women flexing their newfound rights all over the place. My buddy Keegan brought a 3 foot bong which was nice until a Park Ranger spotted us. My buddy ditched it under the car and we split. So the Ranger picks up the bong and rides through the entire lot with a 3 footer hoisted over his head. It brought a mixture of tears and laughter to everyone who saw it.
The show was fantastic. I felt like the mayor. I was still totally high off Gamehendge 2 nights before and I felt like the band could do no wrong. honestly i felt like that for a few more years but overexposure eventually killed that buzz. Anyway I never had an opinion of My Friend but I remember falling in love with that tune at this show. Mike's>Low Rider>Mikes was fantastic and seemed to flow perfectly together. Yamar was also killer as always. Perfect summer song. THe Dude came out for Crimes of the MInd. At this point I thought he came out at most of their Albany area shows as he was at a show I saw a few years before...
