| Working on the Phish.Net WWW Site |
The first thing I would like everyone to do is to spend some time carefully examining the site as it is now. Decide what you like and what you don't like. Are things missing? Are things there that shouldn't be there? What else would you like to see on the site? Why do you feel this way? (Please see below regarding comments on the HPB and FAQ sections.)
After you receive confirmation that you've been subscribed to the mailing list, send an email to the list at phish-www@archive.phish.net with your complete critique of the site. We are all adults on this list, and to show our respect for each other I ask that we try and maintain decent grammar, spelling, and capitalization to promote high-quality communication. Take your time with what you write, and read it over carefully before you send it. The list members will take your ideas seriously if you take them seriously yourself.
In your first message, you might want to include a paragraph introducing yourself. You could give a bit of personal information if you'd like. We will get to your skills regarding this site a bit later.
The idea here is to figure out where we want to go with this site. We'll let people give their own ideas about it, and after we finish our brainstorming session, we will discuss the feasibility of the ideas, and how we will go about implementing them.
Please note that the person responsible for the Helping Phriendly Book is available for comment at dan@netspace.org and the person who does the FAQ is at ellis@archive.phish.net -- these two projects do not seem open for expansion at this time. Anything else on the site is up for grabs.
I very much look forward to seeing everyone's ideas and suggestions. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns!
