II (1:35): Heavy Things, First Tube, Windora Bug, Free Thought^, Gotta Jiboo, Bell Bottom Blues, Sand^^ -> Drum Duel^^^, Come On (Part I)
E: The Wind Cries Mary, Ooh Child

   * - Dedicated to Julia Butterfly Hill, with her story told
** - During the part at the end where "posuuuuum" is sung three times, the audience filled in the last two parts. Trey held the last chord much longer than usual. At one point, he let go of the chord, leaned down and picked up his beer for a drink while strumming with the other hand while the audience tried to hold the note.
   *** - Trey on piano
**** - Trey introduces this as his and Tom's "drunken country tune" and hopes that someone in the audience will understand it
^ - instrumental jam stopped and re-started a few times. During the middle of the song, Trey introduces Tony and Russ and then introduces himself as the "Bad Lieutenant" on guitar. He then asked how many people are going to Oswego this summer. After the HUGE response, he says, "It's gonna be cool!" and gave his seal of approval
^^ - Included a digital delay loop as well as Trey on keyboards. Before "Sand," Trey played a "techno rave jam" on the keyboard during which Tony commented that Trey was practicing for his other job as a DJ.
^^^ - With Trey on 2nd drum kit (full size kit, same size as the kit Russ plays, possibly perceived as smaller because its not on a drum riser)

Thanks to Adam Braman, Ian Warda and Doug Loeb for the setlist and info

05/14/99 State Theatre - Portland, Maine - Reviews
I (50 min): Minestrone, Get Back On The Train, When The Circus Comes, Snowflakes In The Sand, Water In The Sky, Farmhouse, Wolfman's Brother > Feel Like Makin' Love*, You'll Know My Name**, Billy Breathes***, Runaway Jim, Kissed By Mist****
II (1:55): First Tube, Will It Go Round in Circles, Gotta Jiboo, Heavy Things, Tops Off^, Ooh Child, Sand^^ > Drums Duel, Voodoo Child (slight return)
E (14 min): Aqui Como Alla, I Can See Clearly Now > Last Tube^^^

   * - Trey describes how everyone is so excited to see a show in this theatre, where things can be a bit "raunchy", since it's general admission and everyone can do what they want. And he describes the interesting phenomenon during the Wolfman's quiet part where the vibe in the crowd starts to shift as the impending drunken mayhem takes control. So he decides to play a song in recognition of this vibe, but first he is reminded of the classic rock song "Feel Like Makin' Love" (Bad Company) and plays the chorus
** - Trey says "Feel Like Makin' Love" is the partner song of this song, and says it's written about folks who are having last call at a bar
   *** - Trey on piano
**** - Trey dedicates it to Julia Butterfly Hill, the Earth First protester living in an old-growth redwood tree named "Luna" for the past 18 months, written by Tom Marshall and Trey
^ - Tony introduces the song as a blues standard of which the origins are "shrouded in antiquity." He doesn't know who wrote it or even what it's about, but says it may be about taking off your hat, or a top off a bottle, or your shirt off. Also Tony says the song may be written by a blues rascal named "Eddie Bo".
^^ - With digital delay loop jam and Trey on keyboard; 25+ minutes
^^^ - Tony introduces the band and then thanks the crew for all their work, some of whom even have "their own fan club" (Chris Kuroda's CK5)

Thanks to Michael "Lerdawg" Lerman for the setlist!

05/13/99 SUNY Binghamton Concert Theatre - Binghamton, New York - Reviews

E: I Can See Clearly Now, Last Tube, Come On Baby Let's Go Downtown^^^^

   * - again dedicated to Julia Butterfly Hill, with story told about her
** - Trey talks about how he just learned about the "Pub Crawl" last night. It's where all of the seniors who are graduating this weekend, go to every bar in the town, and have one beer from each. He wants to play the seniors something, so he plays this song.
   *** - Trey on piano
**** - with Tom Marshall on vocals
^ - with Trey on small kit
^^ - Trey says that they are going to do one more song to close the set, so everyone starts screaming out their requests. As soon as it's quiet, and they're ready to go into "Silicon Fairy," someone screams out, "Teen Spirit" Trey quietly starts the opening chords, and then the rest of the band follows. They sing and play one verse, then end it laughing. Trey dedicates it to the guy who requested it.
^^^ - They all wish the best of luck to the folks graduating this weekend
^^^^ - dedicated to those Binghamton students participating in the senior pub crawl and would be catching the last hour after the show.

E: Row Jimmy (II+E 1:59)

   * - dedicated to Susannah Goodman
** - Trey introduced "Mountains in the Mist" and began to talk about the fact that there is a trilogy of duologies; 3 pairs of songs related to each other: He mentioned "Mountains in the Mist" and "Kissed By Mist", "Windora Bug" and "Bug" but couldn't remember the third, to which a few folks shouted "TUBE!!" and Trey reacted "TUBE??" and laughed at them.. then paused.. then said "Oh, yeah... Yeah, okay, "Tube"... cuz there's "First Tube", then "Last Tube", then "Tube".... So there's really a trilogy within the trilogy of duologies. Type THAT into the Internet." :) ... [ Thinking about it, is there perhaps another duology ("Snowflakes in the Sand" and "Sand") which Trey possibly meant in place of one of the previously listed ones, or are these songs possibly part of a trilogy of songs, along with "Silicon Fairy" (silicon being a common element in sand), meaning there's really two trilogies in a quantology of duologies? ... just a thought which occured to me ... How 'bout taking that from the Internet to the stage, Trey? ;) - Rob ] ...in the end, "Mountains in the Mist" wasn't played, and instead Trey played what he called a new, real country tune, written in response to the crap on the radio; title is speculated based on the lyrics    *** - Trey on piano
**** - Trey described this night as being a night of drunken mayhem and brought out Tom Marshall who performed a few songs with him
^ - a brand new song (from the outtakes from The Story of the Ghost, described by Trey as one of his Tom's daughters favorites; also with Tom Marshall

He then talked about a conversation he had with Neil Young about doing a solo tour in which Neil recommended that Trey move around, lest people grow uneasy from watching someone stand and play guitar the whole time, so Trey decided to play "Billy Breathes" on piano, which he did after finishing the story
   *** - did not include "Fluff's Travels"
**** - previously known as "Pistol" (or "Symptom"); new title "Sand" announced by Trey

In deference to aLi's misreading of the word "instrumental" on my setlist, we hereby request that the tune be named "Minestrone"."
*** - Trey talked about reading on Sonicnet about his show at Higher Ground and how they had allegedly played "Voodoo Child" during the electric set at the show, when in fact they hadn't (perhaps "Ooh Child" was mistaken for "Voodoo Child"?), and talked about how the unknown songs would frustrate fans online. 04/12/99 Sweetwater Saloon - Mill Valley (Marin County), California
Dirt, Brian and Robert, When the Circus Comes to Town
From Kentalope's post to rmp:
Basically, Trey got up and apologized for cutting in line to play, saying his friend Brad (Sands) had told him that this place had a cool open mic night and to check it out. Picking up someone's acoustic guitar, he proceded to play Dirt, then Brian & Robert. Then he said something to the effect of, "I've never tried this song on my own so I'm going to stumble through it. It's written by one of my favorite bands, Los Lobos," then went into Circus.
