This remnant will be replaced soon. The FAQ is back, with a new design!
How
can I learn more about specific venues?
Questions: Can I get directions to the venues Phish plays?
Any highway tolls I should know about? If I need lodging, is there
someplace I can stay nearby? Does the venue have a parking fee?
Are there picnic areas? What's the surrounding area like, anyway?
(...Have I asked enough questions?)
Answers to these and other mind-benders had been kept online
in the fabulous Venue File, compiled and prepared by Joe D'Andrea.
However, that file is drastically out of date and the most updated
versions are in one
file and a
supplement, both available via ftp.
The best current replacement is the venues chapter of The Phish Companion, a 928-page all-for-charity book.
Stadiums have been a recurrent rumor (or worry), and were
considered
possible by some (8/18/99) for summer 2000.
"When we play an arena,
we cover up all the ads as much as we can
-- the corporate sponsorship thing has nothing to do with music.
We've had offers, but forget it. I know when we tour
we're going to have to play SFX buildings, because they can control
everything. But our goal is to take more and more in-house by
promoting our own shows and releasing our records
through our own mail-order business, and move in exactly the opposite
direction that everyone is moving."
