History: There have been designated taping sections (for those intending to record shows live) beginning in the summer of 1993, and special tapers' tickets (usually offered through mail order) beginning with the New Year's run at the end of 1993. You often had to have one to get equipment in the door (that's always true now - you need a ticket to bring in a deck and equipment, and there's an enforced rule of one deck per taper). But the tapers' block was also occasionally behind the stage with obstructed view, and is now almost always behind the soundboard (still an obstructed view, but better sound.) Current information: As always, refer to the official Phish site, and in particular the hotline message and tourdates listings, for complete and accurate mail order information. Any other source of information is suspect and disputable.
