How do I get tickets to a Phish show?

Where to get them:

  • Phish Ticket Hotline: 802.860.1111, or online via Phish.com or Phish.Net.
    • Web first: Shelly posted to phish-info on 9/10/96, "I will be updating this information more frequently on the website than on the hotline message, so the web is the best place to go for it."
    • Tapers: If you're planning to tape the show, make sure to get current information on tapers' tickets, see info at live recording, and check phish.com (and a Taper's Hotline, when one is running, although it's been years).
  • Doniac Schvice, the official Phish newsletter (see hardcopy)
  • Watch the phish.net
  • Check the archives)
  • Information may also be available from Ticketmaster

Onsale Timing: Expect new tour (show, ticket, and mail order) information 2-3 months before a show.

Kids: As a general guide, we're told, children of walking age need tickets; babes in arms don't.

Note this (1/3/97) post by Shelly regarding day-of-show sales: "Please be aware that tickets will *NEVER* be released AT THE BOX OFFICE on the day of the show for a Phish show that has been announced as sold out. This is a very firm policy. The reason for this is that if you do not have a ticket, then you should not be at the venue on the day of the show, for many reasons (impact on the neighborhood, lack of parking for people who DO have tickets, etc.). If any tickets are released on the day of a sold-out show, they will be made available ONLY via charge-by-phone and at local outlets - not the box office. Tickets were available via outlets and phones on the day of each Spectrum show and on the 30th in Boston. If you want the best chance of obtaining such tickets, your best bet is to wait at the closest OUTLET, not at the venue box office, and have them check the system at intervals for ticket availability."

And, beware of counterfeit tickets.

"Music can't lie -- it really is the universal language. People can hear your intent. If you intent is to sell records and make money, people will hear that, and it blackens the music. That's why the live thing has been so exciting, and so spiritual for us. Once the fans are in the room, there's nothing we can do on-stage that will bring us any more monetary gain. So we're then free to explore and celebrate the spiritual aspect of the music.""
-- Trey Anastasio, The Detroit News, 10/26/95"
